The first day of the trekking begins with the six hours long trek to Lama Hotel passing through dense forests and across several suspension bridges going up and down the comparatively easy trail.
The journey of second day commences after morning tea. We follow the trail through the dense forests making steady climb up through the valley leaving the tree line behind. The marvelous views of Langtang Lirung welcomes us as we pass by water mills, prayer wheels and chortens with sacred mounds of rocks with carved inscriptions on them, until we reach Langtang village.
Morning tea and breakfast will help us get ready to get out of the village following the trail passing through yak pastures. Passing through the largest Mani wall in Nepal made from stone with prayers written on them (it is believed that the prayers written on the Mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind), crossing through several wooden bridges and being accompanied by the views of the Himalayas, glaciers, icefall and yaks, we reach Kyanjin Gompa.
Early morning visit to Tserko Ri will be made to catch the glimpse of sunrise glistening on the mountain range. After breakfast, descend to Lama Hotel will begin as we walk down from Kyanjin Gompa following the trail along the river and passing through ethnic Tamang settlements. The Tamang people have religious and cultural practices similar to that of Tibetans.
An early morning breakfast will get us geared up for trek back from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi going downhill along the lush green vegetation and terraced land. Lunch will be served at Syabrubesi.
We take the drive back to Kathmandu after having our breakfast. You will be escorted to your hotel where you could spend the day either leisurely or go for some last minute shopping or sightseeing around the places you missed during your first day excursion in Kathmandu. A celebratory dinner will be hosted in the evening to mark the successful completion of the expedition.
On this day, you will be saying your goodbyes to the team and participants you lived your Himalayan experience with. After having breakfast and exchanging emails, photos and pleasantries, a representative from Bharal Adventure will take you to the airport approximately three hours before your scheduled flight.
I went to Nepal on a 9-day trek in the Langtang region a couple years ago. I was traveling on my own so I really appreciated to be with a trustworthy and friendly guide Sujan. I would definitely recommend his agency and would like to go back myself!
s the best trek experience we ever had. From pick us up from airport to depart, their service is impeccable. As a novice, they have carter to our needs. We are in good hands, it makes us feel they are like butlers in a 5 stars trekking service. Food, walking pace and etc. As a Singaporean, we are mostly nick picking about everything, but definitely not Bharal adventures. We came as clients and we leave as friends. Many thanks to Arjun and our super strong porter Raju! Thanks for the wonderful memories.
Arjun and uncle porter, they are the best! First, Arjun was very responsive online, he answered to all my questions regarding the preparation for the trekking. He took good care of us during our trekking. Arjun even brought a first aid kit. Together we explored the Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trek. Aside from being a professional mountain guide, Arjun explained the plants and cultures of Tamang. He taught us a few Nepali words. He also made sure we were all well fed and well prepared during the whole trip. He was also very efficient with all the permits and paperwork for the national park. We felt so relieved and stress free with Arjun as our guide.
The Langtang Valley Trek is considered moderate in terms of difficulty. The altitude gain is gradual, and the trek provides a good balance of cultural experiences and breathtaking landscapes.
The trek typically starts from Syabrubesi, which is accessible by bus or private vehicle from Kathmandu. The journey takes approximately 7-9 hours, depending on road conditions.
Trekkers need to obtain the Langtang National Park entry permit and the TIMS (Trekkers' Information Management System) card before starting the trek. These permits are usually available in Kathmandu.
