Trip Itinerary

The representatives from Bharal Adventure will pick up the guests from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and drop them at their hotel for rest. An afternoon stroll and souvenir shopping around the streets of Thamel will be arranged. The guests will be served delicious Nepali cuisine as welcome dinner by Bharal Adventure.

After breakfast, the guests are taken to a guided tour to the UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu which includes the Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, the Monkey Temple – Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. A pre-trip discussion will be organized at noon allowing the guests interact with their trek leader and team members.

A 40 minute flight to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla will be taken from Kathmandu airport just after the breakfast. Meeting with other crew members and preparation for the trek will begin here. To assist in acclimatization, a short hike from Lukla to Phakding will be set. A side trip to nearby monastery could be organized if interested.

A hike through the villages of Benkar, Chumoa, Monjo and Jorsale will start until the team disembarks the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. After passing the confluence of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers, followed by a final steep ascent of about two hours, the team is rewarded with the first sight of Mt. Everest peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. It requires an hour and half hike from here to Namche Bazaar.

This is a day for acclimatization that is spent either with a day’s hike to Syangboche Airport (3,700m), supposedly the highest airport in the world. From here, climb to Everest View Hotel will be taken from where we shall have panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Tawache, etc. A visit to Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery will be made on our way back.

Enjoying the marvelous views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam and close up view of Thamserku, the trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche comes to an end. The team treks towards Pangboche and then descends to Kayangjuma. After passing through Sansa, the major trail junction to Gokyo Valley and Everest Base Camp, the team disembarks at Phunki Thenga for lunch and rest. It requires a short tough climb from here to Tengboche. Lunch is provided at Phunki Thenga.

Descending down from Pungki Thanka, we will come across a steep descend taking us to Khumjung Village where we will be visiting Hillary School and Khumjung Monastery. From here, an easy trek of few hours shall take us to Namche Bazaar where we will spend the night before heading out on the last trek of our journey in the mountains.

A steep descend from Namche Bazaar through the rocky terrain accompanied by views of glorious mountains, Sherpa villages and Buddhist prayer stones and flags takes the team to Lukla.

The forty minute early morning flight to Kathmandu enables the team to either plan more sightseeing in Kathmandu or spend the rest of the day relaxing and shopping for souvenirs in Thamel with or without assistance of representative from Bharal Adventure. To commemorate the end of the adventurous expedition in the land of mountains, a farewell dinner shall be organized where the guests will have one more chance to indulge in the delicacy of authentic Nepali meal before they plan their next tour to the country.

The mountain expedition marks its end today with the team bidding goodbye to each other and sharing their farewell and well wishes during and after breakfast. The guests shall be escorted to the airport by a representative of Bharal Adventure three hours before their scheduled flight.
