    Porter Care
None of the trek is successful without a porter who always keeps supportive in the entire journey. Porter’s always have been a backbone for the trekking. It is their tireless efforts carrying supplies, equipment and baggage that make journeying to these remote areas possible. Therefore, we are firmly committed to porter rights. We make sure that all our porters are well treated, well paid and we provide the level of shelter, clothing and footwear that these harsh environments demand. Porters who become sick are treated with the same care and attention as other team members and we have previously used helicopters - at our expense - to rescue porters from dangerous situations. We support the work of the International Porter Protection Group (IPPG), making our resources available to them to help improve the working conditions of the porters. (International Porters Progress Group

    Environmental Concerns
The Everest Region is no doubt an amazing wonder in Nepal. Future generations have just as much of a right to appreciate it as much as we do. Therefore, we believe that the tourism industry has an obligation to protect and preserve it. Bharal Adventure employs a 'zero impact' policy on the natural environment and the traditional communities that live there. Bharal Adventure, therefore, enforces a number of do's and don'ts. Please talk to your trek leader to avoid environmental impacts.

    Acclimatization
This trek’s itinerary is planned with a high degree of awareness of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Experts agree that gaining elevation without proper consideration of AMS could be fatal. The higher the altitude, the less oxygen will be in the air. Therefore, our body needs time to adapt to an environment with less oxygen. During this trip, we take rest in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche which will help us acclimatize to the high altitude thus resulting in a successful trip.

    Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
The Long Everest Base Camp Trek is a moderate trek. Travelers who can walk up to 6-7 hours a day on an uphill and downhill trail will find this trek fulfilling. It is best that we prepare ourselves for the Everest trek by jogging and exercising regularly at least a month prior to the start of the trek. Trekking to the Everest Base Camp should be relatively easier for those who have experience walking/trekking in a high altitude environment. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. It is also important that we consult our doctor. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform Bharal Adventure before booking the trek.

    Best Time To Travel
The best time to trek to the Everest Base Camp Cho La pass Trek is Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). The temperature is moderate in these seasons and guarantees amazing views through the trip. Although this trek can be undertaken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.

    Insurance
Travel insurance is required for all clients taking any trip. It should give enough security for the whole tour, including personal harm, medical expenditures, repatriation fees, helicopter rescue, and luggage loss. Make sure your insurance coverage covers altitudes of up to 2500-6000 meters.

    Guide and Porter
We offer an experienced, capable, and honest guide with strong communication abilities in English to make your trip unforgettable. The guide will give detailed knowledge on the mountains with their history, cultures, traditions, and much more. We will supply one porter for two passengers. The porters are both helpful and powerful, and they can lift up to 25 kg together. After providing the greatest services and working hard in the mountains, guides and porters expect a gratuity from you. Tipping culture is particularly popular in the travel industry.

    Altitude Sickness.

Altitude sickness, commonly known as Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), is a pathogenic impact of high altitude on humans induced by acute exposure to low oxygen partial pressure at high altitudes. It is often found over 3000 meters. It appears as a collection of nonspecific symptoms acquired at high altitude or in low air pressure, mimicking "flu, carbon monoxide poisoning, or a hangover". However, most individuals can easily ascend to 3000 meters.

      Prevention:
To avoid altitude sickness, ascend gently. Avoiding vigorous exercise, such as skiing or trekking, during the first 24 hours at high altitude, helps to alleviate AMS symptoms. Alcohol and sleeping drugs are respiratory depressants, which impede the acclimatization process and should be avoided. Alcohol also causes dehydration, which exacerbates AMS. Thus, Bharal Adventure strongly advises against consuming alcohol during the first 24-48 hours at a higher altitude.

Bharal Adventure guides and porters are well-versed on this issue thanks to their extensive expertise. They are all skilled in basic medical procedures, so they can certainly aid you.

Memorable Hike in the Giants of the World

We had a great trip to EBC, Cho La Pass and Gokyo in Nov. Suraj is a wonderful guide, who ensured the safety of the Hikers throughout the trip and at the same time very informative about mountains, people and cultures. From the day we arrived in Kathmandu until the day of our return from Kathmandu, all the arrangements like Stay, Food, flight travel were very nice. Big Thank you to Bharal Adventures Arjun, Suraj, and the excellent Porters. Hope to see you and the majestic mountains soon!

    Excellent people!

After many searches on the internet, fate took me to contact Arjun, one of the founder of Bharal Adventure. After emailing for 2 months, I eventually took the trip to EBC. Arjun, despite being on the road or enroute to EBC always did his best to reply to my email or whatsapp and patiently responded to my question. He did that in between is trekking whenever he got internet access. This includes giving me a very good price for the trip. So, I took the trip in Apri to May 2018. I was met by Bharal Team at the Airport and took my hotel. The first impression was really good as the Team really looked after me well. They ensure everything was ok and constantly checking with me if everything was ok. They also ensure that I contact them if I needed assistance. I met Arjun the night before the trip. He is a very nice, pleasant and polite young man. He is very open to all the situations that I might face including the additional costs that might be incurred such as personal shopping, extra meals and coffees, tipping, etc. There were 5 of us in a group that trekked to EBC. We met at the airport in Kathmandu heading for Lukla. In Lukla, we were accompanied by 2 porters and 1 Sherpa and a group leader. So, there were 9 of us together as a team. The trip went very well despite we had to medivac 2 of our team members at Gorekshep. The Team organized the helicopter the night before and constantly in contact with their team member in Kathmandu to ensure our team members are looked after when they reached Kathmandu by helicopter. The rest of us, continued our trip to Cho La Pass and Gokyo Ri Lake. The view was fantastic. I promise myself, circumstances forbid, that I will be coming back and heading for higher altitudes. We completed the trip and along the way we built not only friendship with the entire team (including the sherpa and porters) but also a small family that travel and solve the issues together. When we arrived back at Lukla, we were stranded for 1 day due to bad weather. Our team leader ensured that we eat and sleep well and did his best through his connections to get us on the first flight the following day, despite we missed our original flight and there were many other passengers. In summary, the trip went very well and we were looked after extremely well by professional team of Bharal Adventure. My recommendation to potential clients of Bharal Adventure, if you have needs or concerns (including cost) please just be open to them. They are open, respected and young people who place trust and honesty very high in their business dealings.

Unforgettable once in a lifetime experience To EBC led by Arjun & 3 amazing porters

Our journey started in 3 different cities in Malaysia, 6 travellers in all - Myself and my good friend Ray started out from Johor Bahru, Suk(the only female in our group) & Ricgen's journey started from Mallaca, the 4 of us met with See and Su in their home town of Kuala Lumpur, (KL) Malaysia. 6 of us met in KL and departed from KL international airport for Kathmandu Nepal. where Arjun Dhakal met us at the airport and we transferred to our hotel and finalized all details for the EBC trek. The next day we flew out to Lukla and this is where the real adventure began. The actual trip is a story for another time all I will say is that this adventure was absolutely amazing in fact so amazing that I'm contemplating doing ABC with Arjun next year sometime. Arjun and his team were very professional, his personable character allows for a very relaxed but very organized approach to everything during our trip.
