Trip Itinerary

A representative from Bharal Adventure will greet and accompany the guest from the airport to their hotel. The guests are briefly explained about the program they will be participating in.

A scenic flight from Kathmandu will take us to Pokhara where we can enjoy the magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Mountains and peacefulness of the tranquil lakes which also gives Pokhara its name as Lake City. From Pokhara, we will take a 42km drive to Naya Pul via Lumle village from where a walk of about 20 minutes will proceed up to Birethanti. From here, the trail traversing through bamboo forests, large waterfall and swimming hole take us to Ramghai where lunch will be served. After the relaxing lunch, a gradual climb along the trail up on the side of the valley is followed which takes us to Hille.

Crossing a stream on a suspension bridge near the campsite, we walk from Tikhe Dhunga ascending a steep stone staircase of about 3300 steps to a large Magar village of Ulleri at 2,080m. Above the village, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields taking us to a campsite for rest and water stop after an hour’s walk. The trail crosses two sparkling streams before making a short final climb to Nangethati where we will be stopping for lunch. Thanti is a Nepali word for “rest house”. From here, we will climb to Ghorepani at 2,850m where we will be welcomed by the picturesque sight of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Tukuche Nilgiri (6,940m), Annapurna I (8,091m), Hiunchuli (6,441m) and Tarke Kang (7,193m).

An early morning climb along the steep trial to the view point in Poon Hill (2,310m/10,529 ft) will be rewarded with the sunrays glistening over the Bravura Mountains. One of the most popular trekking destinations of Annapurna Region, it is endowed with astonishing views of Mustang, Pokhara and more than twenty of the highest mountains including the up-close view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. It is a perfect spot for capturing the high mountains looming in the backdrop glistening with the morning light in the camera and beating the chill with some hot chocolate, coffee or tea. Breakfast awaits us as we follow the trail back to Ghorepani. We then head east climbing a nearby ridge and descending through the rhododendron forests passing on our way, the spectacular waterfalls as we arrive in Tadapani. And then move down to Chuile through rhododendron forest. Probably we may see monkeys and langurs on the way.

We descend down from Chuile enjoying the views of the upper Modi valley as we move along the path ascending high above the west bank of the Modi Khola. Passing through the village of Chhomrong that is nestled at the base of Himal Chuli, we descend down until we reach Chhomrong Khola from where we follow the trail that gradually climbs up towards Sinuwa.

We walk for about two and a half to three hours to reach Kuldi Ghar from where few meter walk will take us to a clearing in the forest that comprises of a route going very steeply down a bank frock and then levels out. The trail runs through thickets of bamboo at the bottom of the gorge and always stays on the west side of the river. Passing the pasture of Tomo, we come to the very neck of the gorge at pantheon Barah which accommodates a small trail and a shrine. From here, we follow the trek that climbs to the Himalaya until we reach Deurali where we end our day’s journey.

Climbing the trail past the base area of the virgin mountain Machhapuchhre (3,700m), we will ascend towards the Annapurna Base Camp. No one is allowed to scale Machhapuchhre which is why it could still be called a virgin mountain. The area in which this magnificent mountain is nestled on is known as Annapurna Sanctuary. The day’s trek could either be ended here or further two hours trek to Annapurna Base Camp could be continued from where the backdrop looks mesmerizing. The night is spent at the base camp.

Today is the day we will be having our wonderful helicopter journey to Pokhara. It will take around 1 hour. The feeling can’t be compared with anything else. SO, definitely, you must not miss it.

We are almost end of the journey but we will have to return to Kathmandu. Today we will again catch our plane and fly back to Kathmandu. After Reaching to Kathmandu we will drop you back to your hotel and prepare for the tomorrow’s goodbye.

Today the journey comes to end. After a wonderful experience, you will be awarded a Trekking Achievement Certificate by Bharal Adventure. Then you will be dropped to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA)
