Upon your arrival in the international airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative of Bharal Adventure who will escort you to your hotel where you can rest for a while. Later in the afternoon, we can go on a tour to Kathmandu Durbar Square which is also one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Moreover, leisure stroll around the streets of Thamel could also be taken where you could shop for souvenir to take back home on your return. A welcome dinner will be hosted in the evening to make you familiar with the savory taste of Nepali cuisine.
Just after having our breakfast, we will begin the sightseeing of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa are four of these sites. Kathmandu Durbar Square is an excellent example of Nepalese art and architecture while Pashupatinath, situation on the banks of river Bagmati, is one of the most famous temples of Lord Shiva. Swayambhunath, meaning self-born, is a popular Buddhist shrine popular among the tourists as The Monkey Temple because of the large population of monkey in the area. Boudhanath stupa on the other hand is one of the largest stupas in South Asia build on the ancient trade route to Tibet. We shall then proceed on a drive to Nagarkot, a tiny village in the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley popular for its mountain views and breathtaking views of sunrise and sunset. We stay overnight in Nagarkot after witnessing the most peaceful sunset amidst the Himalayas.
After enjoying the breathtaking sunrise amidst the Himalayas from the high tower of Nagarkot, we have a pleasant breakfast and head into the drive to the city square of Bhaktapur, an irresistible city with the taste of authentic local lifestyle and rich Newari culture and traditions. We indulge in the admiration of the excellent architecture of Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, the 55 Window Palace and Dattatreya Temple along with water spout and other traditional buildings and houses. We immerse ourselves in the savory taste of the authentic Newari delicacies in the local restaurants in Bhaktapur. After having belly full of stomach, we will head to Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which serves as an outstanding illustration of ancient medieval art and architecture and affluent wooden Newari art existent since the Malla Era. In the evening, a farewell dinner will be organized where you can have the final taste of Nepali food before your next vacation in Nepal.
On our last day in Nepal, if we have time, we go for last minute souvenir shopping in Thamel after breakfast. We can exchange emails and photos before being accompanied to Tribhuvan International Airport by a representative of Bharal Adventure approximately three hours before your scheduled flight. As we bid farewell to each other, we can keep in touch with emails and plan for your next vacation in Nepal with assistance of Bharal Adventure.
1st we go to Monkey Temple, after that we go to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Arjun is friendly and helpful. He help to arrange and planning all the staff well. He based on our budget to plan the trip. Flexible and suitable for us.
We took the Langtang Gosaikunda trekking package with Mr. Arjun from Bharal Adventure. He's kind, friendly and professional in his field. He's always fast in responding to my questions while I was making the preparation for the trip. While in Kathmandu, we took an add on package with him too. He took us to the Monkey Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square. He did some explanation about Nepali culture and history. We'll always recommend Bharal Adventure with our friends.
As Australians doing an overseas multi day trek for the first time we really had no idea where to start. We had a recommendation from a friend back home to use this company and just do the whole trip in one package opposed to doing ourselves. So glad we did, we had outstanding service from Arjun who was very flexible with our choice of experiences. We went with a city tour of Kathmandu and Pokhara, two smaller treks (3-4days) for nagarkot and poon hill, an Everest flight and some shopping in between. They also organized travel, drivers, trekking permits and accommodation. Food was packaged in for the trekking days, and our guide would order for us which was very very helpful. Special mention to Suraj, our very friendly and helpful guide, and Gokul the Ironman who carried our essentials all the way along the treks. Looking back it would have been so hard to organize a porter and even harder to carry what we had. It also would have been very difficult and may have dampened our experience to have the stress of working out where to stay, how to get trekking permits, where and when to stop to rest or eat and in many cases which path to take! On the day coming down from poon hill there was very slippery ice and snow, suraj had to guide us down (and thankfully he came shopping with us for crampons and poles before we went!). The city guide (we forgot your name sorry!) was very knowledgeable and spoke immaculate English which meant we spent longer than expected on the day because we were just asking questions or chatting the whole time. We hope Bharal adventures and the staff continue to grow. 10/10 would recommend. Send me a private message if you have any more questions.
A Kathmandu City Tour is a guided exploration of the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. It involves visiting key historical, cultural, and religious sites within the city to experience its rich heritage and diverse traditions.
Some main attractions include Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, among others.
Visitors can experience the rich cultural heritage of Nepal, witness traditional architecture, observe religious rituals, and explore vibrant markets. Interacting with locals and participating in cultural events may also be part of the experience.
Both options are viable. Many sites are located close to each other, making it feasible to explore on foot. However, hiring a vehicle or joining a guided tour can be convenient, especially if covering more distant attractions.
Yes, most historical and cultural sites in Kathmandu have entrance fees. These fees contribute to the maintenance and conservation of the sites. The fees can vary for foreigners and locals.
