Dear Travellers, many might be wondering and have been asking us the questions is Nepal now open for travel? . After a long gap due to COVID and the second wave Nepal is finally Open for travel now. Due to the long gap, several people were out of their job while this was most of the people’s source of income. Bharal Adventure Team and many other travel agencies are finally relieved with this decision by the Government. Finally, everything’s going back to normal along with high precautions and consciousness. Nepal is now open on arrival visa as well. So, any person who have got the dose of vaccines are eligible to visit Nepal. They don’t need to stay in quarantine. They only need PCR report tested within last 72 hours besides vaccination card.

Entry and Exit Requirements:
Effective September 24, all fully vaccinated foreigners arriving in Nepal via immigration office at the airport or the land border can receive on-arrival visa. No quarantine required. Fully vaccinated travellers traveling to Nepal require following documents:
- Evidence of completion of 14 days of full vaccination against COVID-19
- COVID-19 negative PCR test report obtained within 72 hours of entering the country
- Copy of mountaineering/trekking permits or related permits if available
- Proof of hotel reservation in Nepal
- Printed copy of International Traveller Online Arrival Form obtained after registration in gov.np
Foreigners without complete vaccine against COVID-19 arriving by air must obtain the visa from the Nepali diplomatic missions abroad or get on-arrival visa along with pre-recommendation from the travel agency in Nepal while land border entry is not permitted. 10 days hotel quarantine required at their own cost. PCR test must be done on 11th day before travelling within the country. Such travellers traveling to Nepal are subjected to present following documents:
- COVID-19 negative PCR test report obtained within 72 hours of entering the country
- Copy of mountaineering/trekking permits or related permits if available
- Proof of hotel reservation in Nepal
- Printed copy of International Traveller Online Arrival Form obtained after registration in gov.np
- Non-resident Nepali originally from Nepal visiting their family members or foreigners married to Nepali citizen should submit documents mentioned above to get on-arrival visa. Those arriving in Nepal for emergency purposes are permitted to move forward the destination only if negative PCR test report is presented. In addition they are subject to isolation following the heath protocols.
- The government of Nepal has approved exceptions for diplomatic, international organization personnel and their family members to the visa related documents to obtain on-arrival visa at entry/exit points.
- Minors below 5 years doesn’t require vaccination or any test. Vaccinations are not mandatory for children between 5-18 years but are subject to follow other procedures as adults.

Movement Restrictions:
- There is no restriction for movement within Nepal. Local and private transportation are easily available.
- However, passengers are subjected to avoid gatherings and follow strict measures to prevent spread of COVID-19. Violations of local orders may result in penalties.
- Permitted Public transport and personal vehicles, including taxis, in the Kathmandu valley.
- Vehicles must adhere to strict COVID protocols. Additional restrictions remain possible in many locations. Check local conditions before travelling.
- The government has announced that certain trekking routes are open. Contact the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation for current information.
Quarantine Information:
- No Quarantine required for all fully vaccinated international travellers
- All non-vaccinated/semi-vaccinated travellers must quarantine for 10 days in hotel at their own cost. Before travelling within the country, a PCR test on the 11th day..
- All travellers may be subject to random checks (KATHMANDU, 2021).
